Hotel Roanoke Average Daily Rate Sets Record High

The Hotel Roanoke had an excellent year with an average daily rate per occupied room of over $92, which is a record rate for the hotel.

The total revenues for the Hotel Roanoke in fiscal year 2000 were $13.8 million, with a net operating income of $964,285. Operation of the hotel returned over $500,000 for the year to the foundation, bringing the total to $2.33 million since 1995.

The hotel and conference center were again awarded the distinguished Four Diamond rating by the Automobile Association of America (AAA) as was the Regency Dining Room. The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center was one of a few facilities in western Virginia to receive the Four Diamond recognition.

Virginia Tech's colleges, alumni groups, and continuing education programs are consistently using the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center for events. These events bring together members of the university community and alumni, as well as people who had never before experienced the value of the university's educational and outreach resources. The facility is well established as a valuable asset to support Virginia Tech's outreach mission.
